US Space Force: The Sixth Branch Nobody Questions

On December 20, 2019, President Trump signed the National Defense Authorization Act establishing the United States Space Force as the sixth branch of the US military — the first new branch since the Air Force was created in 1947. The timing, structure, and personnel overlap with UAP-adjacent programs raise questions that nobody in mainstream discourse is asking. THE BASICS: The Space Force was carved out of Air Force Space Command. ~16,000 personnel (called 'Guardians'). Budget: approximately $30 billion for FY2025. First Chief of Space Operations: General John 'Jay' Raymond (2019-2022), currently General B. Chance Saltzman. Headquarters at the Pentagon with major operations at Peterson Space Force Base (Colorado Springs), Vandenberg SFB (California), Patrick SFB/Cape Canaveral (Florida), Schriever SFB (Colorado), and Buckley SFB (Colorado). The Space Force controls the nation's military satellites, space surveillance network, GPS constellation, missile warning systems, and space launch capabilities. WHAT NOBODY IS ASKING: The United States created an entire military branch for space. The public reaction was memes and jokes about the logo looking like Star Trek. Almost zero serious inquiry into: What does a space military actually DO that Air Force Space Command wasn't already doing? What classified capabilities justified a standalone branch? Why was this Trump's pet project — the same president who later signed the UAP disclosure executive order with a 300-day deadline? Why does nobody find it strange that we have a MILITARY BRANCH for space? THE BUDGET BLACK HOLE: Space Force's ~$30B budget includes classified programs that are not publicly itemized. The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) — which builds and operates spy satellites — has its budget buried in the intelligence community's 'black budget.' Space Force and NRO operations overlap significantly. The same Pentagon that can't pass an audit and can't account for $2.5 trillion is now running a space military with classified line items. The X-37B unmanned spaceplane — built by Boeing, operated first by Air Force then transitioned to Space Force — has conducted missions lasting over 900 days in orbit with fully classified payloads and objectives. Nobody knows what the X-37B does up there for 2.5 years at a time. THE PERSONNEL CONNECTION: Salvatore Cezar Pais — the Navy engineer who filed the 'Craft Using an Inertial Mass Reduction Device' patents — now works for the US Space Force, reportedly based in Bonn, Germany. The man who patented anti-gravity propulsion for the Navy transferred to the space military branch. If his patents are 'aspirational,' why does the Space Force want him? The Navy's CTO Dr. James Sheehy vouched for the technology being 'operable.' Now the inventor is at Space Force. Connect the dots. THE CONTRACTOR ECOSYSTEM: Space Force contracts flow to the exact same defense contractors implicated in UAP reverse-engineering: Lockheed Martin (classified satellite systems, hypersonics), Northrop Grumman (B-21 Raider, space vehicles, James Webb Space Telescope), Boeing (X-37B, SLS), Raytheon/RTX (missile defense, space sensors), L3Harris (space surveillance). Combined Space Force-related contracts: tens of billions annually. These are the same companies Grusch named as holding recovered non-human materials. The same companies that managed DOE's national labs. The same companies Ben Rich (Lockheed Skunk Works) said had technology 'fifty years beyond what you can comprehend.' THE REAGAN CONNECTION: Reagan's 1983 Strategic Defense Initiative ('Star Wars') proposed space-based missile defense and directed energy weapons. SDI was officially scaled back after the Cold War, but the classified research never stopped. The Missile Defense Agency continues developing directed energy and kinetic interceptors. Space Force absorbed these capabilities. Reagan also made the famous 1987 UN speech about how 'quickly our differences would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world.' The same president who launched the space weapons program publicly mused about alien threats. Von Braun's warning: space weapons justified by manufactured enemies, with the alien threat as the 'last card.' THE TIMELINE THAT MATTERS: 2017: AATIP revealed, Navy UAP videos released — UAPs are real. 2019: Space Force created — we now have a military branch for space. 2020: UAP Task Force established. 2022: AARO created, UAP hearing in Congress. 2023: Grusch testifies under oath about non-human materials. 2024: Pais moves to Space Force. 2026: Trump signs UAP disclosure EO with 300-day deadline. VP Vance calls UAPs 'demons.' aliens.gov registered. GENERAL KWAST — 'THE TECHNOLOGY EXISTS TODAY' (November 2019): One month before Space Force was officially created, retired Lt. General Steven Kwast — former commander of Air Education and Training Command — gave a speech at Hillsdale College that should have made global headlines. Kwast stated: 'The technology is on the engineering benches today. The technology has been matured to the point that we can now have all the capability of the full Space Force we could dream of building today.' He described technology that could deliver 'any human being from any place on planet Earth to any other place in less than an hour.' He explicitly framed this as EXISTING technology, not aspirational. He was advocating for Space Force by telling the audience: we ALREADY have the technology, we just need the organizational structure to deploy it. Kwast had recently been passed over for a four-star command — reportedly because he was too vocal about what he knew. A three-star general telling a college audience that revolutionary space propulsion exists on engineering benches RIGHT NOW, one month before the space military branch is created, and nobody in mainstream media asks the obvious question: what technology? THE COLORADO SPRINGS CONCENTRATION: Space Force operations are overwhelmingly concentrated in Colorado Springs: Peterson SFB (Space Operations Command HQ), Schriever SFB (Space Systems Command, GPS operations), Buckley SFB (missile warning, space surveillance), the US Air Force Academy, and Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NORAD/NORTHCOM, built to survive a nuclear strike, buried under 2,000 feet of granite). The most militarized space infrastructure on Earth is concentrated in a single metropolitan area of ~500,000 people. Why Colorado Springs? The altitude (6,000+ feet) aids satellite communication. The granite of Cheyenne Mountain provides natural EMP shielding. But the concentration also creates a single command-and-control nexus where classified space operations, missile defense, and space surveillance all operate within 30 miles of each other. This is America's space capital, and it's the most classified city in the country that nobody talks about. THE SPACE FENCE — WHAT ARE WE REALLY TRACKING?: Lockheed Martin built the Space Fence on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands — an S-band ground-based radar system that can track over 200,000 objects in space, down to objects as small as a marble in low Earth orbit. It replaced the old Air Force Space Surveillance System in 2020. The Space Fence can detect, track, and catalog objects that the previous system couldn't see. Official purpose: track space debris and satellites. Unofficial question: if the government acknowledges UAPs operate in our airspace, the Space Fence is tracking them in orbit too. A system designed to see everything in near-Earth space — including things that aren't supposed to be there. THE SPACEX/STARLINK NEXUS: SpaceX has become the primary launch provider for both Space Force AND the NRO (spy satellites). Elon Musk holds security clearances. SpaceX has classified government contracts worth billions. Starlink has deployed ~6,000+ satellites creating a global communications mesh. SpaceX's Starshield division provides classified military satellite services. The relationship between the world's most active private space company and the space military is deeply intertwined — and almost entirely opaque. SpaceX launches classified NRO payloads, launches Space Force satellites, and operates Starshield for military purposes. Musk simultaneously has a seat at the government table through DOGE. The richest man on Earth, running the dominant space launch company, with classified military contracts, advising the president who created Space Force. Whatever Space Force is really doing, SpaceX is helping them do it. THE DIRECTED ENERGY INHERITANCE: Space Force inherited decades of directed energy weapon development from SDI/Star Wars through the Missile Defense Agency. Programs include: ground-based lasers for satellite defense, space-based kinetic interceptors, and High Energy Laser (HEL) systems. These connect directly to Greer's claims about EMP weapons being used to down ET craft and to the broader weaponization of space that von Braun warned about. If directed energy weapons exist that can target objects in orbit, they can target UAPs — and that capability now sits within Space Force. THE X-37B — DEEPER: The X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV) deserves more attention. Built by Boeing's Phantom Works (their classified projects division — same company as the B-2, same company with unaccounted Pentagon assets). Six missions completed, with the longest lasting 908 days. The vehicle looks like a miniature Space Shuttle. Its payload bay can carry experiments, deploy satellites, or test unknown technologies in orbit. Every mission objective is classified. Every payload is classified. The vehicle can autonomously change its orbit, making it nearly impossible for foreign nations to track consistently. It has been photographed by amateur astronomers changing altitude unexpectedly. What do you test in space for 2.5 years that you can't test on the ground? Either surveillance technology that requires orbital positioning, or propulsion/energy technology that requires a zero-gravity vacuum environment — or both. THE SPACE DEVELOPMENT AGENCY: Created in 2019 (same year as Space Force), the Space Development Agency was absorbed into Space Force in 2022. Its mission: build a 'proliferated warfighter space architecture' — hundreds of small satellites in low Earth orbit providing missile tracking, communications, and battle management. Multi-billion dollar program. The SDA represents the next generation of space military infrastructure: not a few expensive spy satellites, but a mesh of hundreds of small satellites providing real-time global coverage. Combined with Starlink's commercial mesh, the result is a comprehensive orbital surveillance and communication grid covering every square meter of Earth's surface. THE QUESTION NOBODY ASKS: You don't create a space military, staff it with anti-gravity patent holders, fund it with $30B/year through the same contractors running reverse-engineering programs, station a three-star general to tell colleges 'the technology exists today,' build a Space Fence that tracks everything in orbit, partner with the richest man on Earth's space company for classified launches, inherit directed energy weapons, and run unmanned spaceplanes on 900-day classified missions — unless you already HAVE the technology that justifies all of it. Space Force isn't preparing for the future. Space Force is deploying the present. The biggest story hiding in plain sight.
