Yemen Hellfire Missile vs. Metallic Orb (2024)

An MQ-9 Reaper drone fired an AGM-114 Hellfire missile at a metallic orb off the coast of Yemen. The missile struck the object and bounced off without detonating. The Hellfire is designed to destroy tanks and hardened bunkers. Footage was shown at a House Oversight hearing in September 2025 by Rep. Eric Burlison. Military veterans testified that no known material on Earth can survive a direct Hellfire strike without damage. This incident represents some of the strongest physical evidence of non-terrestrial material science — a craft that shrugged off a weapon designed to penetrate tank armor.
