Karl Wolfe — NSA Technician Sees Structures on the Far Side of the Moon (1965)
Karl Wolfe was a Precision Electronics Photographic Repairman in the United States Air Force with a Top Secret Crypto clearance. In 1965, while assigned to the NSA's Tactical Air Command headquarters at Langley AFB, he was sent to a facility processing lunar imagery from the Lunar Orbiter program. THE ENCOUNTER: Wolfe was called to repair photographic equipment at the facility. While there, an Airman Second Class working on the imagery told Wolfe — in a moment of apparent distress — 'We've discovered a base on the back side of the Moon.' The airman showed Wolfe the photographs. Wolfe saw geometric structures — mushroom-shaped buildings, spherical buildings, towers, and what appeared to be radar dishes — on the far side of the Moon, which had never been photographed before the Lunar Orbiter missions. THE DISCLOSURE PROJECT: Wolfe came forward publicly at the National Press Club Disclosure Project event on May 9, 2001, organized by Steven Greer. He testified under oath and stated he was willing to testify before Congress. His military service records and his Top Secret Crypto clearance are verified. THE BROOKINGS CONNECTION: The Brookings Report (1960) specifically mentioned the possibility of discovering 'artifacts left at some point in time by these life forms' during space exploration. The Lunar Orbiter program ran from 1966-1967 — six years after Brookings. If structures were found, the institutional framework for suppression was already in place. DEATH: Karl Wolfe was killed in a bicycle accident on October 10, 2018 — struck by a tractor-trailer truck near his home in Lansing, New York. He was 74.
